I am so in love with retro girls from the 40's all the way up to the 80's. I wish that artists for books and greeting cards still stuck to that same style of art simply because it looked so innocent and so colorful and maybe because it reminds me of my childhood...okay I am an 80's baby and proud dammit! So in a tribute to the retro girls I have created some pieces out of my dedication to the cute and kitschy era!

Organic Is The Way To Go
Hey guys! I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything on here, but it's never to late right? So I have been super busy all Spring with getting my garden ready and tending to it every single day. This is my second year with a garden so I have learned tons of tips and tricks (via You Tube) on how to have a more successful one this time around. So far so good!
So last summer the family and I went to a Christian community Georgia called Jubilee Partners and they have a program that takes in refugees from all over the world and helps them learn English and a work trade so that they can find work once they are finished with the program. They also have this massive community garden which is have a bountiful amount of fruits and veggies. I actually picked out some succulent green tomatoes and fried them up Southern style...YUMMMM!!! So anyway I learned a lot about gardening from them also. They used all kinds of materials to keep weeds somewhat away. They used cardboard, dead leaves, pine needles, toilet paper and pretty much anything biodegradable. We are going to have so much food this year that I will be donating some of it to shelters. Giving back is what life is all about!

Happy Kitty Bunny Pony- The Cutest Book About Cute!
So I just scored this awesome book "Happy Kitty Bunny Pony" from Amazon.com for only $7.00 including shipping! This was considered slightly used, but it looks brand new enough to me. This book has very little writing and more pictures of cute kitschy animals. It starts with talking about the origins of the word "cute" and then continues with how and when the Teddy Bear came out and it's history from there. I am so glad that I found this book and I think any and everyone who is into anything cute MUST HAVE this delightful book!

Kitschy Keen and Feeling Good About It
To me life is art and for me art is life. Everything I do breathes art. So now that I am a little older, my taste in fashion and art has evolved into something I feel very comfortable with. For a while now, my home decor included vintage artwork from the 1970's and a new age stuff like Budha scultures and woodwork. I am soooooo over that!! I got rid of all my home decor to Goodwill and now I am launching onto a new..well old home decor from the late 1940's to early 1960's era. I am in LOVE with anything cute, shabby, or kitschy!
I got this retro kitsch pup from Etsy the other day and I found this adorable sheep at the Goodwill, took it home and gave it a makeover. I painted it pink and added cute eyelashes to it! LOVES it!!
I bought these amazing vintage kitsch decals that are still in their original packaging! I love them and can't wait to find a place to use them on!
I also got these beauties from Etsy and they were only $8.00 each!! I couldn't pass these up for one second! And the best part is that they were still in their original packaging. Countless hours of being on the net pays off..lol
